Midarm and rear outboard question

4.5" lift OME perches moved back. Suppose I'm doing that wrong.
I'd check the travel in the front springs before I committed to 12" travel shocks. When we do a 12" front, we have the shaft and body shortened by the length of the internal spacer to keep the overall length less to slow down how much the shock upper mount extends higher to keep it under a stock fender.

I wasn't messing with the front right now. I have the stock mounts with the 4" OME springs and had Acutune set shocks up for that last year with the short arms. I screwed up should have waited until I got the Savvy mid arm before I did that. Can't afford to change the front shocks right now, bad enough replacing the rear foxes I just put in last year.

What is the free length of the Old Man Emu 4.5" spring? Memory says they were fairly short compared to other options.

If someone doesn't possess the know how to shorten the shaft and body when doing the fronts, would ordering the Fox 10 or 11" travel accomplish the same thing?

I think you’re aiming for an 11” shock up front with the stock mounts. Unfortunately, I don’t think Fox makes an eyelet to eyelet 11” travel shock anymore.

They still do.....this is what I used on the front. Part number 980-02-039

What do you mean by the perches moved back?

I appreciate all the front advice. And I may be all wrong but am concentrating on the rear right now.

I presently have 1 year old Fox 2.0 remote reservoir adjustable with only 9.6" of travel. The reading I'm doing appears I need 12" travel shocks to outboard ? I want to outboard while I'm doing the savvy. If buying new 12" strike shocks is the way to go I will. Your thoughts?

I wish I remembered. They went in last year.

In the interest of your success, it would be wise to measure the free length of your OME rear springs before you start cutting the frame.

Understand that the commonly suggested Currie/RockJock 4" rear springs have a 17.75" free length and that typically is barely seated at the full extension of a 12" Fox after an outboard where the shock is positioned at 50/50 from ride height.

There is a lot baked into that run on sentence that needs to make sense if you are doing a shock outboard.
