So when I shift into reverse I feel it engage, when I let off the brake my front end shifts and my wheels shift side to side each time I brake and release. I replaced the transmission mount yesterday and everything is aligned as it should be. Thoughts?
I'd inspect your trackbar, it's what keeps the front axle centered, or at least at the same spot it was set to, at ride height (same for the rear, at least on standard short arm setups). My guess is bolts on either or both ends are loose.

The above posts are in the right direction- may be some of both.
Do a dry steering test. Have a helper turn the wheel left to right with the engine off , like 10-2 and watch every connection for excess movement, and with the engine running.
It’s hard to tell much with control arms visually but a “shift ” in the axle sort of like you described usually happens if they are worn or loose when you hit the brakes rolling. Start with making sure the bolts are properly torqued. There are 10 up front - 2 at the track bar and 8 on the control arms- all do the same job- hold the bushing and arm to control/maintain axle position as it moves. You can also have a cracked/damaged mount. Not common but possible.
Not sure how it drives but you may be in for a pleasant surprise once you freshen it up.
Might want to go ahead and lift each wheel and check the front hub/unit bearings while you are at it - I have seen some so worn you could feel it by rocking the tire.
