That one looks good but I’m holding out for a Rubicon.

Why would you need a 4:1 transfer case, Dana 44 front axle and lockers ?? Rubi can be $10k premium ?? Am sure some will disagree and I could be wrong. D (and to be honest, it is not unusual for first time drivers to bang up vehicles !!)

You are right about not needing Rubicon. My thought process was it cost more to purchase but if and when we sell it, I’ll get that back with higher resale. I’m not worried about my girls banging it up. I have 20 year old twins who are good drivers and a soon to be 15 yr old girl. I am set on the 4.0 engine and 5 speed manual. That said, I will consider your suggestions.

I didn't need one myself. The price was so good at the time that I jumped on it.

It does seem like you can find a Rubicon for not that much more. I’ve seen a few decent looking ones for under 15k. I haven’t seen anything worth considering for 10k. The 5k difference doesn’t matter to me and I would gladly spend more for a nice one.

2004 Rubicon 5 speed with 69,000 miles. Seller listed it for $18,000 two days ago here in Va.

I know and I’ve read that Mercedes 6 speed is much more costly to work on. Also seems 5 speed is more desirable. These reasons are why I’m focused on the 5 spd

Much better gear ratios in the 6 speed. The 5 speed is higher geared throughout it's range than the 6, really important with larger tires or in hills. I'm always baffled with friends that have nearly the same builds as me, same axle gear ratios, but they complain about lost ability to use 5th... while I'm still in 6th on the same routes as them...

Interesting, thank you

not going to mention any names but we have a member on here from Fleming Island, Florida that has just what you need. I can guarantee you it has no parts on it from Autozone or Oreily's on it. you'll have to pick it up late at night though and I'd push it down the road a ways before starting it up :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

If it’s Boogieman, just give me his address and I’ll figure it out!

Out of the two I know of on Fleming, one is an auto, and the other may be in crisis thinking it is technologically advanced, but not allowed to be...
