I wanted to replace the factory steps because I felt that they were just going to hang up on something someday. I also wanted additional protection for the tub, but I absolutely needed to keep a step for my wife. There are really no rocks in Florida, so I wasn't concerned about ever needing a real rock slider. I also wanted something that was bolt on and easy to install. After some research I found the Dropkicks Slyders. They clamp around the frame instead of bolting into it.

I gained almost two inches of additional clearance over the factory step, a little protection for the tub, and retained the step function for my wife. They are perfect for my needs.

Top picture is the factory step, bottom is the step/slider.

Great choice! I love my Drop Kick Slyders! I got them for all of the same reasons.

Ugh... why did I not see this before I bought my nerf bars. This is exactly what I need. Do you have to drill any holes in the frame?

No. They clamp over the frame.

Another cool product we unfortunately had to say goodbye to recently.
Huh?

Yeah, that really sucks. But, when I bought mine, I even offered to come pick them up, because I am only 3 hours away, and he "almost insisted" to ship them. It was kind of strange. He said why drive if I can have them to my front door.
