The 18 must be a beast

It's not. It is okay for stuff that you don't need a real Sawzall for. Don't get me wrong, I have one and use it a fair bit but it is not anything near as beastly as their M18 Fuel Sawzall and now they have the Super version of it which I won't ever buy because I have 2 of the others and they have never let a bigger beast stop them from doing anything I asked of them.

Not sure if the M12 has that capability.

Ad shows that it does which is great. My M18 has that option, my M12 does not and it's annoying.

Yeah M18 sawzall can kick some ass but a corded 15 amp sawzall is just on another level (even the one from Hazard Fraught Tools)

Apples to apples, there is no comparison between the Milwaukee corded and the M18 Fuel. I have a mountain of experience using reciprocating saws in contruction and my Porter Cable blew every Milwaukee corded out of the water. I've traded stuff around before and wound up with a new corded Milwaukee. I gave it away because it is terrible compared to the battery version.

I believe it. That old Thor drill is much the same. If the bit grabs, *something* is going to keep turning, and it may well be the operator!

Did a little side work this week and used it to start my Hercules power tool collection.
20v grinder
20v/120v fan
20v heat gun
20v 3/8 compact impact
2x 20v 5AH batteries

12v right angle die grinder
12v cordless 3/8 ratchet
12v 4AH battery

Plus charger, some new impact sockets, some new drill bits, some grinder discs, and some bigger welding magnets.

I’ve been happy with my Hercules power tools. Have a 1/2” impact, a couple of 3/8” and 1/4” guns and ratchets. All have been fine so far.

Not exactly what I had envisioned, but its still gonna be nice! The "Packout" feature I really don't need, so its obnoxiously large - BUT - OTOH, it should sit very stable, which has been a problem with other work lights I've used in the past. I can certainly see it in use when I'm under the Jeep, it won't tip over or flop around. The light tower is one of those things that you - or at least me - don't need all that often but when you do, its damn nice. I could even see using it for a bit stage light, or a photography flood.

And they are friggin' A bright!

I have the same vintage and design but Craftsman. It was my Grandfather’s. Heaven help you if it binds. Not much speed the Oh the torque.

Montgomery Wards aluminium beast drill.
Years back I was drilling thru a header on a sliding shed door. (14' up in the air)
I pulled the drill out and while the rpm's slowly wound down, it swung into my pant leg. Left Inner thigh of course. Grabbed the denim and started wrapping its way toward my privates! Fortunately It stopped and only left a bruise on my thigh.

The same 1/2" Milwaukee drill that ripped out a fistful of beard on March 11th, 2018, also knocked me off a 10' ladder in 1996 when it bound while drilling into a nearly 100-year-old 2"X4". Maybe I should stick to one of these...

I still use one of those in certain circumstances. You can "feel" your way along.

Awesome! On the Hercules bandwagon! I keep adding to the collection. Half the time I don't realize they have a tool and then I really want to get it! I need that Heat Gun, for example. I love the little 12V Die Grinder and my most recent addition is the 12V cordless 3/8" ratchet. Picked it up for $25 on Marketplace last weekend. The bandsaw is pretty cool for cutting pieces for fab work. Love the grinder. Didn't know they had a fan! If the batteries die or start acting up within 3 years just take them back. Get a new one free!

I ordered some attachments for the die grinder this morning because I forgot to pick some up when I bought it. Went through benchmark abrasives to get their 10 pack of free grinder flap discs.

I have a corded Milwaukee band saw and access to an M18 cordless so I should be good on that front for now. Right now I'm most interested in adding more 20V and 12V batteries. I may add a second grinder down the road to have one for cutting and one for grinding since fabbing may have me going between the two frequently. And honestly, at $70, it's not a bad deal to have both. I don't need any of their wood working tools because I have full access to all of that and don't do it enough to justify my own. As I use them, if I find that I like the compact impact and electric ratchets, I may expand on those down the road.
