What's the name of the tapered bit that I need to replicate these holes in body armor for 5/16" bolts?

I found that for cutting l prefer my corded DeWalt. When I used the battery powered Hercules it just didn't cut at as high rpm's. YMMV. I do like having two grinders. One always with a cutting wheel, the other with a flap disc. I haven't had any issues with my Hercules and commonly find people dumping the tools and batteries on MarketPlace. I'm reticent on the batteries, but so far they've been good. Small price to pay for "more batteries!"

Good? I've been seeing mixed reviews between this and the original. But from people I suspect don't use them often and of unknown skill levels. I've been wanting to pick one up, but have held off until I can find some info I can trust.
I've used it daily since I got it a couple of weeks ago. If you are expecting to be as good as my big Dynabrade die grinder, you'll be sad. If you are looking for a replacement for a normal air die grinder without the air hose, you'll be thrilled.
Mixed reviews will be due to unreasonable expections and shitty battery choices. My new M12 sub compact 3/8" impact zips off lugnuts with ease but only if I use a high output battery. This die grinder is the same, use a shit battery and it cycles on and off with annoying frequency. I hadn't planned on saying much but I had to cut some welds on an exhaust hanger I'm rebuilding and didn't feel like dragging out a 100 feet of air hose to reach the vehicle on jackstands. I tossed on the cutting disc and it zipped through them with a quickness I wasn't expecting, so I decided to try and cut the 2.5" SS turn down off that I'm replacing right through the weld. It went through that with more ease than I'd thought was possible.
It isn't going to replace my big one but so far, sanding, Scotchbrite discs, wire brushes of all sizes and shapes and a carbide burr haven't even slowed it down.
It only has one quirk. The lock nut for the collet has to be screwed out until it loosens the collet to release the shank of whatever you're using. Takes a couple of tries to get used to it. All my other collet tools just need a little tap on the shank with the loosening wrench to get them to release and slide out, this one requires the nut or a bigger whack than I'm willing to deliver.

That's exactly what I hoped to hear. I won't use it daily, but probably fairly frequently, and have a few jobs coming up in particular that it would get heavy use on. I hate fighting the air hose to use my pneumatic die grinder and have been waffling on this purchase for quite a while. I know you do your homework and that you are hands-on with tools daily, so I value your opinion over the mixed bag I've seen elsewhere. I'll be watching for a deal on one of these.

When I asked, everyone said just get the m18 angle grinder with a cutoff wheel, I ended up getting both. I used this a lot for resizing metal wire shelves since it was easier to use with one hand, and a few odds and ends. But its cutting depth is really shallow.
I've been disappointed with this one. It binds/stops way too much and can only be used for the lightest of metal cutting work IMO. It struggled to cut my fenders, as an example.
I've warmed up to it a bit after being really disappointed initially. It's nice and easy to grab for a quick trim/knotch or a weird tight space where there is no chance of binding the disc. In almost every case I just grab the grinder.
Like @E-Ticket said, ANY bind and it just gives up. Was really surprised it was useless high-lining the hood.
Not much homework on this one other that seeing Milwaukee updated the previous version with this new one. You likely won't see a deal for a bit. When my neighbor was selling Milwaukee on Offer-up, he snagged one of those as part of a package deal and gave it to me. I didn't even stick a battery in it and just gave it back so he could sell it as new.
