Using X2 by northstar. Its been in close to 3 years now. 880 CCAs, 2 hrs of reserve capacity and side terminals as well as top.

Honestly using solar to pump diesel is about the best energy storage I've ever heard. I love charging batteries, but batteries just don't hold the energy as what diesel does. I'm always racking my brain to figure out useful ways to integrate solar. I like the off-grid concept and as back-up insurance/emergency use, but it's such a pain in so many ways mostly because of how inconsistent it is. Every storm where we lose power, my solar is useless and so far I've always got power on before my panels produced anything.

I've got Anderson connectors on the tractor and the pump so if the battery isn't charging from solar I can run it off the tractor battery...or trickle charge the tractor battery and the diesel pump battery at the same time. Same setup on the camper...has a panel, batteries and Anderson connectors...dump trailer...gates...

It's sometimes the seemingly small stuff when it comes to electric that makes a lot of difference. I like Anderson when it's not not exposed to the environment all the time or just requires a heavy load and MC4s for more exposed low current stuff and I keep running into XT connectors, which are fine and might be a bit smaller compared to Anderson, but sometimes you just don't have a choice.

X2 Power SLI34-78AGMDP, Dual Purpose / Deep Cycle, AGM, 880 CCA, 68 AH, 134 Min Res, purchased Feb 27, 2015 from Batteries Plus with 5 year full replacement warranty for ~$350. Still going strong in my Avalanche 8-1/2 years later after numerous full discharge mishaps until last week. Left switch on while working on truck and killed it for one last time resulting in a dead cell 11.5 volts after charging.

I think that I got my money's worth since I could only get a year out of Delco's 5 year starting battery due to those mishaps. Delco got tired of warranting them and refused to honor more than 1 replacement. I was also tired of dealing with it, so had to find something else.

Same battery today is still $349.99, but only 48 months warranty. Must have had to pay out a few, but I will still go with another one just like it, unless I can find the Odyssey HEPPC1500DT which has the same specs, or something else similar for less money, which is unlikely.
