I have an optima yellow top in a buggy. It gets put away around November and fired up in April. For two years now, it has never failed and is never placed on a tender.

I am excited to see a thread about TJ fenders that has such recent posts! I am looking to make the jump to flat fenders and trying to do some research on brands. I am not a fan of the tube look and have really been eyeing the Nemesis kits, modulus because i like the look. I like the PSC as well, but the 3" seem to be difficult to find and the bolt on replacement vs cutting lens the edge to Nemesis for me personally. The jury is still out for me on if I need highline or not. The Optima battery tray seems to be a pretty big contention point. Can someone explain why there is so much negativity around Optima? I currently have an Odyssey that I put in like 5 years ago after reading a recommendation, but I don't know a lot about the differences.
Decide on your final tire size and what you'll need for your shock travel to accomplish whatever you are trying to accomplish. Then you'll know if you need hilines. The big issue with hiline choice is those that limit you to an optima. Really?
I don't plan on going bigger than 35s unless I can turn my jeep into a trail only rig. I probably don't need hilines.
I was looking at your build last night, how do you feel about the 4.5" flares vs. 3"? I have the same JCR rockers and my initial thought was to match the same width, but it seems like a lot of folks prefer the flares to be a bit wider.
I think the MCE’s were about the same width as the JCR’s (4.5”). Now I have GR fenders 4”. Both were really good width wise with the JCR’s. Having some flare is good if it’s a daily driver. It keeps crap from flying everywhere. If it was a dedicated trail rig I'd go with a 0” flare and no rear flares. This is how it sits now. I’ve got 5.5” uptravel and 5.25” downtravel. I don’t need HiLines to clear the tires.

Dayum that looks good.
I wish Genright made a 3" flare. Moreover, I wish that Poison Spyder had fixed their aluminum fenders way back when.
Agreed, competition is good.Yeah, it wouldn’t hurt to have some more quality options. I think Jerry has some of the old PS aluminum fenders. Then there are some that don’t fit worth a dayum! These GR’s bolted right up.
Spendy though$$$$ you know, you’ve had the HiLines. Interesting Savvy never made any fenders that I know of. Width and tires go together. I’m throwing stuff over my front fender, but it doesn’t bother me.
There were plenty of good options at the time and the only one I would have done would have been so close to what the Crawlteks are that I would have been accused of copying them even though I'd never seen a set at the time. With the two options in aluminum from Poison Spyder, the fender selections were good. I really wish Poison Spyder would have (a) fixed their simple design flaw, (b) fixed their overall design to be square off the body, and (c) not discontinued them.Interesting Savvy never made any fenders that I know of.
Thanks for that. Unfortunately 4wheelparts also blocks viewing from the UK (think this happens when companies do not want to deal with stupid EU driven data protection legislation).
I don't suppose anyone could tell me the current cost of Poison Spyder highlines and inner fenders on the 4wheelparts website? As I have to pay a chunky shipping cost and then c.25% in import taxes on the price (incl. Shipping), cost is not irrelevant.
From what I’ve gathered Poison Spyder is completely out of business and all the stock was sold off ?
But if you try to order anything it takes you to 4WP which list everything as discontinued or back ordered. They also seem to have abandoned their FB page.
That's a shame.
I came here looking for recommendations on a set of Highlines ..
Crawltek or Genright
I saw the Crawlteks but they give no material specs or detailed photos..I think I might end up with Motobilts and add some square tube to the inner lip so I don’t cut the heck out of my tires. I was trying to avoid buying a 1.5” square tube die for my bender but I guess it’s inevitable. I really don’t care for the round tube look and have no use for aluminum stuff.
