Almost done. Cleaning up the factory fog light brackets that always get nasty. I roderef another set, but am cleaning the ones I have for backup.
I also crawled under the driver’s side to scrub and spray the frame. It’s rusty, but not too bad. The worst part is between the plates and the frame.
I probably could have spent more time cleaning the rust, but I didn’t have the patience. It will rust again - it’s a constant battle.
Blower Motor Resistor
It sometimes feels like stuff keeps breaking. Spent a while trying to find the stupid resistor. Thanks to a YouTube video, I found it and managed to remove it and replace it. All of the fan speeds now work.
Next step - the air only blows through the defroster so that is a vacuum leak or broken blend door. I will work on that soon.

Refurbing Soft Top
The soft top looks pretty good unless you look closely at it.
The rear window has scratching where someone probably cleaned the window with a scraper during the winter. The side windows also have similar scratches. Overall, it is also a little bleached out.
I first tried some Meguiar's® PlastX™ Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish. That was not abrasive enough so I went to look for something else.

My next step was to turn the variable buffer up a from 1 to 3 and use Meguiar's® Ultimate Compound, G17216.
This seemed to work much better. The scratches are much harder to see. Next step is to brighten the top itself.

Oh my goodness. I am so glad that I did not tear the dash apart looking for a problem!
Happened to look on the engine and saw the open vacuum port. I then searched around for the tube - found it on the firewall. Connected it up and viola - it all works now.

FOLKS. CHECK THAT THIS HOSE DID NOT FALL OFF ACCIDENTALLY BEFORE YOU TEAR INTO YOUR DASH!

Install USB in Dash
This was an easy one. I pulled the center dash trim (two screws) and the trim plate with the switches and power/lighter (two screws).
The Switched USB module I got has a USB A and USB C port, power button, and displays the voltage in the system.
The only obstacle was that I needed to trim down the spade connectors and figure out which of the wires was powered.
Overall, I am very happy with how it looks.
