Lots of things didn’t happen this year, lots!
So, I should be able to finish off my 500 mile break in by this weekend. I'm usually an RTV guy, but I'm considering a Lube Locker gasket this go around. Any opinions on it? $22 vs. free RTV. I just hate the time waiting for it to dry enough to tighten the cover and add oil.
I am going to have to go with RTV but mainly that’s because my covers probably don’t have a Lube Locker to fit them

Yep, there was a wooded house up top. I have some pre-fire pics of it on my work computer I'll post tomorrow. It was nice to get out for the day even with all the burnt match sticks.

Led a trip up to the tower a few years ago, pre-fire. This is what the tower looked like.

We’ll be driving through the King Fire scar when we go on the Hell Hole Trail on the 27th, I haven’t been up there since the fire but I know most of our route goes through it.
Finished up the break in period and changed the diff fluid last night. Still not very impressed with the overall job they did, but the gears look fine, so that is good. They made quite the mess with the RTV, so it took me some time to get that all cleaned up.
One of the diff cover bolts on the bottom was ground down a bit from one too many kisses with the rocks, and I knew about it, but I guess they didn't have any spare good bolts laying around, so they just rammed the nasty one back on, and looks like thay lost one of mine, so they just put a regular cap screw with a washer on as a replacement. Top notch work right there, ehh? NOT!!
I had to pound a 1/2 socket on that buggered up bolt to get it off. They also must have used a 1/2 drive torque wrench set at lug nut torque putting them on, cause I had to break out my 3/8 ratchet to get them off. Really surprised they didn't strip threads. I always use a 1/4 drive ratchet when doing diff cover bolts. Luckily, I had some old stock spare cover bolts in my stash, so I replaced them with good ones.

@bobthetj03 how do these mount under the tub? I haven't been able to locate any pictures of the underside of these RR sliders.
It's been a while, so I'll go back and look. I think I had to drill and install nutserts for the bottom.
