Pitman arm question (sloppy steering)

My jeep has a 6" Skyjacker lift which came with a drop pitman arm. I've had some sloppy steering that i've narrowed down to play in the pitman arm on the steering gearbox shaft that hasn't been remedied by re-torquing the nut. I also have a mystery crossover steering installed an the drag link connects to the pitman arm via a bolt on the top of the arm (pic below). I'm wondering if I'm correct in thinking I can install a stock pitman arm and flip the bolt so the drag link is on the underside of the arm and that won't mess up any geometry?

I'm no expert on crossover steering, but I do know that putting the drag link on top of a drop pitman arm leaves it in just about the same position as mounting it from the bottom of a stock pitman arm (the way it came from the factory). So you could, but I doubt it will gain you anything from a steering perspective unless the drag link you're rod end is interfering with the pitman arm.

I'm confused as to why one would mount it on the top to begin with - seems like it defeats the purpose of the drop arm.

Need to see more pics. Take one from the front so we can see your whole steering setup.

Not looking to gain anything, just need a new pitman arm to correct some sloppy steering caused by a loose fit between steering box shaft and the current drop pitman arm
 
I have a strong hunch a tight pitman arm will not result in great steering.
You won’t find any love here for a 6” lift and heim joint steering of any design.

Somehow the double steering stabilizer doesn’t surprise me.
A well designed steering setup really doesn’t need a stabilizer, much less 2. They were probably added to bandaid the the steering issues that came from the mismatched geometry between the steering and the track bar. The remedy would be Currie Correctlync steering. To install that you would need a stock pitman arm and a set of new Undrilled steering knuckles.

Gotcha. All this stuff was installed by the PO. I knew the difference between the track bar and drag link would be an issue that I'd need to address eventually, but right now, I can move the pitman arm on the steering shaft without the shaft moving so I'm going to fix that first, along with rebuilding my rear driveshaft which has developed an unsavory noise
