Project Snowball: My daily driven LJ crawler / hot rod / wanna do all build / IDK what to tittle this , "My LJ"

5.13 to 4.88 would be less than a 200 rpm difference. If you're going to regear you should do 4.56 which would put you at ~3000 rpm @ 80 mph.
I was thinking about that too!
I plan on going to a 35" Tire as too why I said 4.88 but after running the numbers 4.56 wouldn't sound bad either!
Crawl ratio is gonna be affected but I got a different Tcase in mind to run if I'm not happy with the 2.72 low-range in the Np231

After stupidly finding out and adjusting my pinion angle a while ago due to my savvy tummy tuck,I found out that my shocks were hitting the spring perches....
Clearanced them out some and now they got space😁
20251028_192953.jpg

Note- The jeep is at full droop in this pic,Plenty of clearance 😁
The only things that are close to the shocks is my coil springs,a good 3/16ths away

These poor shocks only got driven 8k miles...lesson learned,When doing major pinion angle changes...anything really,Check clearances. Dont be so eager&excited (thats me)

So apparently the SKF 19601 Seals for the Ax15 from NAPA are bad from what ive read. Noticed the smallest bit of oil from the transmission weep hole. So an hour In after getting home from work I got the Tcase out, yet again, I'm getting quick at this lol ! I wonder why...

This national one for the Trans
20251030_194141.jpg

And I noticed that the tcase seal had popped out,It wasnt leaking or anything but I took it out (destroyed it in the process) So I put in a SKF unit from yet again napa, rtv'd it as I had the other one just pressed in....If this SKF unit fails on the Tcase side I may just be done using SKF,I recognized it as a good brand with the experiences I've had with em on different vehicles but lately I've been having bad experiences with em on my Jeep unfortunately.
20251030_182945.jpg

And this SKF Unit for the Tcase...The guinea pig. It went in just as easy as the other one if not easier since the RTV acts as a lube
20251030_194232.jpg

Used a good bit of rtv to say the least 😅
20251030_193029.jpg

And now to wait for the 90 min RTV to dry and put everything back 😁

My skf ax15 seal leaked too. The timken in there has been trouble free for a while now 🤞

I have mine out 3 times on the 42rle. Finally replaced the input on the T-case with yet another good seal in the transmission side and everything finally stopped leaking.

🤞 Wishing you the best on this next one and sending positive energy your way 🙏

Alright so when I pulled the wiring harness off the jeep Lj when I manual swapped it,I noticed that 1 set of wires was just beat. Didn't bother looming it since I was gonna get that later,I was more focused on the main mission! That getting the thing running&driving lol
So some time later:
Today I Got to fixing one of my 02 sensor wiring connector,it was extremely dryrotted&cracked...corroded,Ugly musty dusty...ALL of that 😆
20251101_145416.jpg

Cut that mess off and traced the wire to where it wasn't all heat deteriorated And set it up with a deutsch connector 😁
20251101_145419.jpg

Boom,That's mo-bettah✊🏼 And from the main harness is a small extension since I have an American Racing Headers setup I'm required to run this extensions since the cat is essentially underneath the oil pan and not next to the block under the intake

20251101_152941.jpg

AND,No more annoying C.E.L saying "delayed 02 sensor response" I hate check engine lights so today was the day lol

Now that that is fixed,I noticed oil all over the oil filter by the OPDA,What was the cause?
Welp the clip/bushing or whatever its called that's used to sit over the gear is now somewhere in my engine...And that probably caused oil to travel up the OPDA and it pooled up in there and started coming out and causing a decent mess on the side of my block🙃
20251101_162007.jpg

I caught it early because although the side of the block was all oily it all happened under 3k miles since I last repaired it (welding the gear to the shaft since it was just freespinnin)

But yeah,New Crown unit all lubed up with isky "rev-lube" I use this on cams&lifters,Valvetrain in general on fresh builds
20251101_163041.jpg

Tack welded the gear to the shaft cause I dont want the damn thing coming off again and causing a misfire!
20251101_162855.jpg

Next little thing to do is fixing the ground on the starter relay,I hate having a small wire from my negative battery terminal running to the fuse box.But hey it works and it lets me turn my jeep on! A little ghetto to me but it works ✊🏼

DUDE.....Why is it that when I'm not driving my Lj I see all these cool Tj's....How are they supposed to know that I'm chill like that🥺
I saw 2 semi stock Tjs,1 Dope looking Lj like mines with a loud exhaust but silver🤣 and a YJ with a loud exhaust lol
I can count with 2 hands the times I've seen older jeeps like Lj/Tj's and Yj's when driving my Lj. What are the damn odds lol

Well shiet.....You forgot to send some positive energy my way too 🤣.
cause the SKF unit done failed on my tcase
However thr national seal on the Ax15 is still going strong though 😁The SKF unit started weeping a day after installation🙃 (thought it was residual from pulling the Tcase but nope)

New national unit is in.....and so is everything else,Test drove it 20 miles and Still dry!
I'll do an update tomorrow,She'll see another 72 miles tomorrow to work.
The skf only lasted about 20 ish miles.

Alright Tcase seal has been mint for the past 150 ish miles😁 Got my speedo working too !

I finally got to working on the Lj on replacing its valve springs! All went well......until I got to the last frigging spring man,Tool was too tall so I'd hit the firewall
So I told myself "Alright no biggie ill cut the thing up,Weld a nut and get er. Done,This rental is now mines
So yeah cut I it up some more and long story short my jeep can finally hit 5k and be held and bang limiter now 😁

But yeah she's mint now and I can actually row through some gears and not hear that flutter past 4k that just kills power (valve float) 😁

Screenshot_20251109_133043_Gallery.jpg

Screenshot of a video from me peeling out,It wouldn't even hold anything over 4,100k Rpm when attempting a burnout on gritty concrete Now it just goes😁
Ahhh I'm pumped to say the least !!!

Oh yeah,I'll write up on the new steering wheel with the back button functions too,Got my horn&cruise control back. I'm loving this Jeep more&more 🙂

Good garage-engineering (ingenuity) on that tool adaptation! Sometimes that's what it take to get the Job done - yeah, you may need a new one on the next car - but not a new tool if you need to do this again on a Jeep. ;)

Opinions on these wheels yall?
I wanted these too but they were out of stock so I went with what I initially wanted, the nomad convoys (my current wheels)
How the jeep sits:

I May get a set of 17" wheels simply since there's less sidewall deflection when I'm going fast and taking turns !
But here they are:
I'm going for a rally look
These are gonna be for daily driving&hooning around

Edit- Or in dark gray!

They look cool,I kinda didn't like em.....But they're growing on me,Idk

Im still gonna rock my KMC Grenade dessert beadlocks for crawling,Just need to buy some 35s for em...

From what I have gathered, you are looking for speed! That tells me you will likely add a manual hub kit to reduce the amount of rotating mass you’re needing to spin up with everything else. Would it be of any benefit to select one that clears manual locking hubs?

If not, the bronze phone dial looks interesting.
