Project Snowball: My daily driven LJ crawler / hot rod / wanna do all build / IDK what to tittle this , "My LJ"

From what I have gathered, you are looking for speed! That tells me you will likely add a manual hub kit to reduce the amount of rotating mass you’re needing to spin up with everything else. Would it be of any benefit to select one that clears manual locking hubs?

If not, the bronze phone dial looks interesting.
Yes sir you are correct ! I like going "fast" and bombing through dirt roads, gravel and overall doing track car like shenanigans in my jeep 😝 But I also like to crawl !
As much as I'd like to have locking hubs on the Hp30 im building,I'm also not looking to dump more money on that axle since I may end up bending it (my current axle is bent)
I'd like to put that money towards my Hp44 that I got out of a 78' ford 😁

But im mainly looking for some 17" Wheels so I can have a slightly thinner sidewall for less deflection

For the moment Soon im planning to get the ORO dual rate front swaybar soon,It's stiffer than the stock bar which is nice! But will still flex enough for crawling when you flip the lever which is slick. I'm gonna see how that treats me and go from there

Ideally: If I had the money,Apart from the 17" wheels. I'd cut up my frame to put the shocks where I want(outboard the rear) And get the travel I want, Custom tuned shocks,Some nice adjustable sway bars and maybe some Mid arms? Etc.
If not, the bronze phone dial looks ininteresting.
Hahaa🤣 Damn it man. Now I can't unsee that picture I'm my head lol

Edit- Minor spell corrections*

I like the dark grey or graphite wheel look. That’s the color I run.

Bronze, not so much 😬

Me too,I like the wheels I currently have but I'm kinda bored of them being just black....That's the look I was initially looking for (a steelie but in aluminum) But I want some color now
I'm digging the Dark blue from method,But I've always liked gold (like the Nomad arvos) or bronze/dark bronze wheels too (like the Methods). But now that I think about it.....the gold would be too "Gaudy" a dark colored wheel would suit the jeep better!

Heck I even like machined wheels,Kinda like my Kmc desert grenade beadlocks

Welp these fit the "rally" look too....

Back to methods: ....If only they weren't almost 400 bucks a pop,The beadgrip would be cool but that's what my beadlocks are for....

That dark bronze actually looks pretty good. The blue doesn’t even look too bad.

You can get away with a lot more wheel colors on a white vehicle.

I was limited by painting my Jeep Gunmetal Pearl Metallic. That color automatically makes many wheel colors look “gaudy”.

I feel like it's a bad idea to tell you this, but you can change that number.
Your not wrong It still makes power till about 5500,Gonna have to retune it cause i never tuned it to that rpm recently

Edit- My current tune is tuned with my valve float....I made many tune changes thinking it was my tune but nope...it was valve float

Today is a day I got to clear up some thoughts:

I got to drive my buddies miata,I also got to scare she shit out of him too lol,I was tracking that thing harder than he ever has 😝
I helped him install a stiffer rear swaybar (Car already came with a stiffer front) and coilovers a few months back and I got to drive it today😁
And knowing the issues he was having and feeling how it drives now,I'm gonna try that same concept on my Lj (just the swaybar lol) Gonna have to do a hellwig rear swaybar. I kinda forgot how thin the stock rear swaybar is....That sucker is thin !!!

That hellwig swaybar should help quite a bit,I almost forgot that company made one for Tj's I've done em on OBS chevys but yeah,Glad I got to learn something new today🙂

Skip all that of what I said above,Extreme change of events here/ Yap session:

It may be Ford 9" time for real now.....I had a kid ask me to rev my jeep, Instead I Gave him a small burnout/peel out. So I Put it in 2nd,It hooked hard for a sec but still spun for a good bit (no smoke show tho lol)
But as I got done doing that and Went to HEB all I heard is a whining noise on Decel....Same noises I got the last time on the new gearset I blew up 2 months ago (if that)

But all in all,I'd say it was worth it. I got to make a kid happy,That little fella was cheesin&jumpin out of excitement😁,The dad came up to me as I got up to the light asking me what I had swapped in it,I was like "no sir,no swap! It is cammed ported head&intake and full 3" exhaust,Stock motor" He was surprised and the little guy was asking his dad to tell me to rev it,Little guy asked and I sure as hell delivered 🤣
So its safe to say a little car guy was born,That's how I got into this car building stuff 🙂 At a Goodguys carshow at the age of 8. Saw lots of cool stuff,I was that same kid that asked for a rev and got some in return. So the kid that asked me today he was alot younger than 8 but I saw myself 🥺 So I had too!

Pros:
*
I can still drive the jeep cause its not god awful ! I still got to HEB and home now and it drove jusf fine
* I'm gonna have a stronger rear axle that'll look cool

Cons.....
* I now gotta build a rear axle again,I'm gonna see what the total WMS will be on the Currie axle housing I already have with Brakes&such and go from there
* Pinion will hang down quite a bit
*
Im gonna have to delay the mods for better handling
* Its starting to get cold as hail here in Texas 🙃

I got a 4 day weekend coming up due to Thanksgiving. So I was thinking of doing a rear trackbar delete😝
In the mean time in those 4 days could I Chop up my frame for some new brackets,Since I'm already here starting with a new axle I may as well do a triangulated rear,That would be cool!
But 1st I need to get my jeep to pass inspection,It decided to be absolutely code free for a long time part from the same code on 02 sensor "bank 2 sensor 2" due to the wiring being corroded and deteriorated, But I'm now getting P0133 Codes"bank 1 sensor 1 slow response " One stored and the same one pending.... OF ALL THE TIME IT HAD, IT HAD TO BE ON THE MONTH OF INSPECTION Like c'mon🙄......Is this a sign😆?

Happy Thanksgiving yall😁

To conclude yesterdays day:
Got off of work and I took my jeep to the inspection place yesterday,Got there and turned it off.
The guy went to Turn my jeep on and the SOB didn't wanna crank on.An hour later I Got my friend to pick me up so I could go to my house and use my Gladiator to flat tow the Lj back home
Gyat dayuum🤣
We made it to get my jeep inspected and that was it....No mas lol😆

But I found out the ignition shaft (idk what it's called) broke off,It goes into the ignition switch and I took that off and on it started 😁

What a day yesterday😆 But I'll see if I can find another ignition thing and get this thing to actually get inspected this Friday 🤣 Not just make it there.

And now to celebrate Thanksgiving with the homies later today🙂

Thanksgiving update:
The macaroni was delicious, the ham,Green bean casserole (never had it) and it was delicious😁 Great Thanksgiving ✊🏼

This pic was taken an hour ago,all the food is gone 😆And the turkey.....still in the oven as I'm typing....we underestimated the cook time...
And on to desert 😝

Welp,Parts are arriving for the ford 9" setup
AND triangulated 4 link 😁
Just waiting on shafts, ring gear bolts with the safety wire holes,Clayton axle truss for the triangulated 4 link And some warmer weather cause dayumm🥶 it's starting to get cold as hail....Why do I always do somewhat big endeavors coming into winterous times man 😆 First the Harmonic balancer replacement that lead to a full on cam&head swap and painting stuff.
Now a simple axle swap that was only gonna be just a axle swap with for something a bit stronger.....Is now going into me doing a Triangulated midarm rear.....what now outborded shocks 🤣?
(Im know im not doing outboards shocks,Yet)

Trying to get O2 readiness shenanigans:

Welp....I'm still driving the heep around (spelling is intentional) With a very hurt and whiny rear axle cause I need my 02 sensor monitors to get into readiness🙄 Why? To pass inspection every monitor is in readiness just not the "CAT" and "o2" monitors

But one of the main reasons It hasn't been going into readiness is because it's was running Way.Too.Rich. Rich as hail, So I've been tuning it these past few days and leaning it out some
20251205_224510.jpg

For the moment I'm now starting to focus on the Fuel trims at around idle/1.8k Rpms cause I've set my VE tables somewhat low at idle and it just wants to run rich! Gonna mess with injector pulsewidth tomorrow? All things aside the jeep is pulling great (look at my speedo😝)

it all started at the end of last month, cold weather made it run super rich? Idk....but I'm solving this tune bit by bit. The whole map was green like this ➡ "🟩" Green! It was terrible man

Wow....what an interesting find
I didn't actually blow my Dana 44 lol
It wasnt the ring&pinion 🤣 it was my eaton trutrac....I can spin the gears and the shafts move but as soon as there's load on the hubs only the R&p spin
Screenshot_20251220_220809_Gallery.jpg

I wish I didn't pop the diff cover cause it kinda flushed the whirlpool of energy to get this axle out to start chopping my frame and what not....But my mind is a bit too set on getting this whole setup outta here and start on my ford 9" And doing my triangulated 4 link😁

OPINIONS:
Should I just do a semi triangulated 4 link (uppers triangulated) ?
OR
Do a triangulated 4 Link? I don't mind making a cross member but I've been thinking this through a little bit and It was obvious that a semi triangle suspension would suit me better because the crossmemeber for triangulated lowers would hang low!
not only that but the arms ofcourse would hang quite a bit too! Along with the crossmember it would be low hanging fruit that's in the middle of my jeep (lower than my skid apart from the DS)

I'd like to do a double triangulated setup since I'm already gonna be chopping stuff off and starting fresh. But I can see the complications and cons of a double triangulated setup

Edit: Damn now that I typed my thoughts out and am looking back I think I have my mind set on just a semi triangle.....yeah,personal diary moment
I think I just needed to type my thoughts out to make some sense in my head 😆

Anyways Here's a quick mockup of my truss 😁
I gotta shift it about an inch to the passenger side tho so no biggie !

Gonna start taking the read end out and going on from there tomorrow 🤙🏼
