Well, I'm not your Dude, and definitely not from the center of AL. Where I live is also referred to as Rocket City, the birthplace of NASA. There are more engineers per capita that almost every other city in the US. (just in case you are trying to label these "dudes" from AL as rednecks)
What I see on the 2 pictures the OP posted, is a top that is cloudy, and needing a few hours of detailing. Tail-lights that are faded and need to be replaced. All the plastic trim on the Jeep needs to be detailed/replaced. Lots of scuffs/scratches in the paint. Curb rash on wheels. Tires are not all matched. This is all from 2 rear pictures, and based off what I can see from these pics, there is a lot more going on than that.

Ah yes a low IQ "breakdown" of minor cosmetic issues on a 98. The same "issues" that collectors like me actually appreciate. These 98s have character. This Sahara is in excellent condition looked over by Jeep Masters and needs only 2k of shop mechanic work to be flawless for the highway. All of you guys came on here to try and bash the car. Cool dont care. Truth is the top itself is worth 2k and the car itself is in great condition for a 98 Sahara. I thought Jeep forums were where people might appreciate this car and the care ive taken making sure its this close to perfect. Guess not. Have a nice one guys. Post your jeeps here so I can roast them myself please.
I've offered to sell it to him for 11250 so he can have the extra money to spend on making it highway useful (I only drive my Wranglers on city streets short distances). If yall want to try and talk him out of it go for it. Youre doing him a disservice and you guys are wack as hell for being a "JEEP FORUM" where all you do is talk down the value of well kept beautiful pieces. Have a good one.

It's nowhere near close to perfect.
Here is a picture of my current Jeeps... Both owned since new. Both used as Jeep intended. Both not claimed to be perfect. Both in better condition than yours. Both are not for sale.
I prefer my cars as well as my Jeep to be "highway useful" so that's very generous of you.

It will drive 80 on the interstate with one finger and still wheel in the rocks!!!!!

The point GWOTC is trying to make (poorly) is prices are different in different areas. Maybe that's a fair price but I'm sure not spending 1 minute looking at TJ prices at Austin to prove or disprove anything. It's up to newjeepguy21 to do his due diligence as far as condition and value in his market. It looks like a good TJ great color combo if the price for condition works.

Yeah, I did look at marketplace, and in his market area $9k is the norm, all day long. There is even a TJU (LJ) with 91k miles for $12.5k...
