Radio or Bluetooth

I have a 2001 that my daughter will be driving legally in December. I switched out the radio about 10yrs ago and now the buttons don’t work. My first thought was to find a replacement w/ built in Bluetooth. Now I am wondering if I can remove the radio altogether and just a Bluetooth sound bar and she could just use her iPhone for music. Would this be possible, as I’m not sure how the soundbar would be powered if it wasn’t plugged in to th head unit.

It’s probably a lot easier to just replace it with a new stereo. There are plenty of decent ones for around $100 and the Bluetooth technology is pretty solid now. I just put this in my TJ the other week and it’s been great.
Improved my sound quality as well.

Maybe you stumbled on the best idea of all, A new driver and short wheelbase, with a high Center of gravity could benefit
from less distractions behind the wheel, ( Just for a little while Dad is, " working " on a awesome sound setup. )

Not trying to be a dick, just throwing it out there.
I am sure we all want your girl to truly learn how to drive and love that TJ !
