Was thinking of regearing my tj to fit 35s mainly road driving, wanted to see what i was looking at in terms of pricing parts+labor. Wanted to do 4.88 on dana30/35 and get super 35 installed ( Detroit locker) apologies if i didn’t word any of that right, just started looking into it, appreciate it

Mine was $1650 done in 2019. That was in North Alabama. Regions probably matter as well as seven years ago.
I priced getting mine regeard about 4 months ago to 5.38 and it was $2600.00 at Tom's 4x4 in Chattanooga and $3600.00 at a trusted shop in Huntsville.
Needless to say, it still ain't done yet.

4.88 and 35s is a good combo with a 4.0 and a 5 speed. 4 cyl or automatic and you may want to rethink that. I would suggest using only Spicer, dealer, or revolution gear sets. Anything else is going to cost time and money. If you can swing it, selectable lockers are the way to go. I ran automatic lockers front and rear for many years and wouldn't go back. Driving on the pavement and in the snow is soooo much better with selectable. It is more money now but it's a lot more money later. $800 labor per axle is reasonable I think in most parts of the country. Gears need to be set up near perfect to withing a couple thousandths of an inch.

Yep, that was from the Jeep dealer I bought the blue one from. It was clearly and F off price.

No, I re-geared the stock axles before I bought the Curries.
ECGS is over $3k for front and rear. Gears, master kits, and labor.
My 30/44 Revolution gears with master kits and set up bearings was less than $750.

I just had mine done in January this year, but it was more involved than a typical gear swap. I had eaton elockers installed with 5.13 gears, and chromoly axle shafts f/r. The shop also drilled the housings for the elocker wiring and fed the wires through. I then had to wire them up the rest of the way myself.
Included was: install/setup gears with new lockers, assemble and install chromoly shafts (this included assembling the u-joints in the front, i just brought the boxes), and drill/run wires out of housing for elocker. The shop also supplied fluids, seals and bearings for the installs.
I supplied the gears, carriers, axle kits. total charge was $2,300.
I spent about $2,500-$3,000 gathering parts i think, as i bought the rear locker off ebay and the front locker was used off fb marketplace, as were the rear axles. In fact, the only parts i bought new were the front axles and a wiring harness for one of the elockers. So, take the parts cost and add some % profit to it.
Obviously be careful, but if you check on FBMP, you may find a local side-hustler to do the Labor, there's one here that does it for $500 an axle. Just checked, there's one in Flowery Branch.
For comparison, my local shop charged 10 labor hours to gear and ARB the tons. Should put you in the 6-800 range.
I'd at least look to see if there's a set already regeared and locked local on Marketplace. You may even be able to move up to 44s for minimal extra cost compared to a new regear and lock. There were several when I was shopping for axles here.
EDIT: You can part shop at East Coast Gear Supply, they'll have everything you need and are normally decent pricing.
