If you remove the welded nuts from the top of the crossmember, you can position the shock on top of it. This effectively moves the shock up 1/2”. If you need to move it more you can put spacers under the shock bar pin. The most it can be moved up without enlarging the main opening is about 1” (using a 1/2” spacer). If you enlarge the opening the shock goes through and get real crazy you can put up to 1.5” spacers under the bar pin for a total gain of 2”. This is a great way to not only use a shock “designed” for a 4” lift on a 2.5-3” lift but more importantly it allows you to dial in the up and down travel of your shock the way you want. I am using rancho rs55256 in the rear which are normally too long for lower lifts. I have 5 inches of uptravel and 4.5ish down. I am using 1/4” spacers under the bar pins on top of the crossmember.Interesting. Can you say more, or point me toward any pics of what you mean?
