Rebuilding Currie Johnny Joints?

I have a couple of Johnny joints to rebuild and may end up doing them all. I have been told I need the Currie tools to do it. So for anyone that has done it, do I need the tools? Or is there another way to press them in? I really hate to spend $180 for 2 tools I'll use once r twice in the years I have remaining. But if it is that hard maybe it's a bargain?

I'm no expert on rebuilding them. I did one but that certainly doesn't make me worthy of instructing how to do it. That also shows how nearly indestructible they are lol. There are a number of Youtube videos that show the process, that's what I would watch.
