Replacing U-Joints: Do You Prefer a Hammer or a Press?

Were they extremely tight or just a little? Now I'm worried about mine but don't want to have to take it all apart again

Pretty tight, and to be honest that may not be the reason it failed - perhaps a component of it.

Don't worry about it. It will let you when you have to take it all apart and until then, just ignore it and be happy.

Yeah good point, it will take just as much work to do it now as to do it later if it fails even in a few months. I got the u joint for $19 so I don't mind paying that again and I will learn my lesson about using the ball joint press
