Rubicon Express control arm tools

In the process of doing frame repair and I've pulled both passenger rear control arms. They need the bushings replaced and I'd like to open up the flex joints to inspect them since the zerks were dead when I bought the Jeep. Does anyone have the RE3771 and RE3772 tools they'd be willing to loan out if I paid shipping? Or a recommendation for a spanner wrench alternative? I can't see spending almost $50 for tools I won't be using again likely, and it puts me over the budget of rebuilding both rear control arms if I need to buy the flex joint assemblies.

I guess I am not understanding the wisdom of a set of control arms that require a special tool? I realize you already have them and it is probably cheaper to rebuild them than it is to replace them with something that is less specialized.....

You probably need the Super-flex sockets. I just bought one recently for my upper CA's. Do an internet search for "Rubicon Express Super-Flex joint control arm tool".

It's normal for cartridge type joints in control arms to have a special tool that makes it easier to overhaul them. Currie's Johnny Joints do too.

Yep I do. I just didn’t want to pay almost $50 for two spanner sockets I most likely won’t use again as long as I own the Jeep.

Spanners are not absolutely required if you are up to making other tools work.

I’ve considered doing a hack tool but they look like they’re going to be a bear and I’d rather not wreck the arm itself or damage a joint that just needs cleaned and lubed. Still an option though.

I have only the one for the smaller joints, you're still free to have it. It remember that the pins twisted the the bigger one, so I just used a brass punch and a hammer to tap the lock ring around to take it off the bigger joint.

I’m gonna need it. I tried using a drift on the small one and no dice. Got 2/3 of it apart by pulling the snap ring and taking one Delrin ring and the ball out the back. Still can’t get the adjuster ring freed up. It’s soaking overnight. Try again tomorrow. Lol

Let me know how much shipping is and I’ll gladly send it back when I’m done with it. Appreciate your kindness!
