Show me your hood vents

How is the water seeping into the engine bay

Lay down on the ground underneath your 5.3L and look up.

I care so little about water getting in that added four more big vents up front surrounding the engine.

At least those side vents let out all the water that goes into through the grill when you drive in the rain.

I fab’d up a slick aluminum cover to slide over the grille slots for when it rains. Keeps everything much dryer inside the engine bay.

Sharp eye - that's the AEV Highline Fender kit, looks like the grill is lowered but in reality the fenders are raised. The kit had the new hood with shallower sides, and the taller front wings and flares. It allowed you to run significantly bigger tires with less lift. Sadly it's been discontinued for a long time now and very very rare to find them second hand. Getting to the stage now where the best way to find them is already on a vehicle for sale.

The kit raises the fenders up to follow the windshield to cowl line rather than the indentation between the doors and the fenders - which for a cleaner look I filled in.

It is a nice hood to look over, mine is steel but you can get the same style hood now from Genright or Varozza 4x4 - https://www.instagram.com/varozza4x4outfitters/ in fiberglass or carbon fibre, for tubular high fenders or standard fenders. Nobody makes the OE style high fender anymore.

Previous version I had for the regular fenders looks like th

Camels!

Could you imagine one running out in front of you like a deer and you hit it? They are so tall that the body would just smack the windshield.

Moose/Elk do.

Not good.

If I had a camel, every day would be hump day.

Didn't even think about them and being in the US. I guess I'm spoiled since we only have deer that are interested in knowing what a bug feels like.

Ummm…keep your sick perversions to your self

I’m laughing- it just hit me how that came across.

I’d still like to have a camel.

Do you remember the commercial for the cigarettes?

“Men who have tried others prefer camels”

I heard somebody say men who have tried camels prefer women
