Slip yoke eliminator kit and components needed

I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ. I just installed a three inch lift and am going to need a slip yoke eliminator (SYE) and was wondering what all components are needed to install this and complete a “tummy tuck”. I’ve heard a 1.25 inch body lift and a 1 inch motor mount lift is needed. Is this true? Also what SYE Kit is recommended?
 
Advance adapters sye or jb conversions sye.

A 1" motor mount helps with the pinion angle. A body lift gives the tcase room for the tummy tuck. And hopefully your lift came with adjustable control arms to set the correct pinion angle

As a side note, doing a TT is a lot more involved, compared to installing a SYE to correct pinion angle. With a tuck, your exhaust will need to be modified, and you'll want adjustable upper control arms front/rear as a minimum. That's in addition to the MML and BL that tworley mentioned above.

Gotcha. So sounds like I would be better off with just an SYE and not necessarily need the body lift for the tummy tuck. I don’t play in too many rocks and quite honestly did not understand the amount of work needed for a tummy tuck. So I could just get an SYE Kit and 1 inch motor mount lift to correct my pinion angle?
 
I recently did a 4" lift, a 1.25" body lift, a 1" motor mount lift, and an Advance Adapters SYE. All of these components work together to give you what you need. You will also need adjustable control arms for your pinion angle, and a new double cardan driveshaft (I used Tom Woods).
You will also need a few miscellaneous tools that aren't in your normal tool kit. A 1 1/8" socket, a good set of snap ring pliers, an angle finder, and a good tq wrench.
You might also find that you will need to trim your rear coil spring perches because your shocks might be in contact with them since you raised your pinion angle.
None of these things are that big of a deal, but be prepared for them.

I did all of mine at the same time, so I'm not 100% on exactly how much is required. If I remember correctly, with only a 3" lift, you could probably just do a SYE and skip the motor mount lift. You will need a new CV rear driveshaft with the SYE, and adjustable upper control arms in the rear to correct the pinion angle.

From what I’ve read, I’ve arrived at a similar conclusion as you. Like you, I am not crawling over anything so I don’t need a full tummy tuck.

I don’t think the motor mount lift is required if you don’t want to tummy tuck. Just the SYE, driveshaft, and adjustable control arms. However, if later you decide you do want a tummy tuck or different skid, it’s unlikely the driveshaft will fit.

Because of how integrated all the components are, think of what your final design will be and work backwards from there. Unfortunately these Jeeps are not designed to upgrade one piece at a time. It’s all or nothing.

With a 3" lift you're in a grey area. The spring rate and how loaded the Jeep is will have an effect on u-joint operating angle. If you're not experiencing vibrations when accelerating, cruising, or coasting, it is not acutely necessary to replace anything.
If there are driveline vibrations, get adjustable rear upper control arms, then adjust the pinion angle to be near (or equal to) the transfer case output shaft angle. When driveline vibrations can't be adjusted out with rear UCAs, engine lift, and/or transfer case drop, it's time for an SYE and DC driveshaft. Driveshaft bind at full extension would be another reason for an SYE, plus standard DC driveshaft or high angle DC driveshaft.
 
I am going to be doing the SYE kit as well. I have a 4" lift and hoping the SYE will allow me to move my T-case back up to the original height as it is dropped right now. More than anything, I am trying to get my shift boot back on and not pop of gear in 1st and reverse from it hitting the cutout in the console corners.
Would the engine lift be needed if I am just putting the T case back in the original location?

Do you have adjustable control arms? Otherwise the drop kit will still need to be utilized.

If still utilizing the drop, a MML will help.
