Soft top installation - I'm going crazy! Someone please help.

Guys, I would really like a photo if anyone has one to figure out what I need to do. This is how the to came to me from previous owner. I did not do any assembly.

I really hope I haven't don't any permanent damage to the frame forcing in and letting it sit for 2 days like that.

You see the snaps on your top that are not snapped into anything? There is a row of four of them. They all correspond to snaps on the opposite side. Unsnap the snaps. You have the top rolled up funny and snapped wrong. Unsnap the whole thing and start over. You will see the snaps. Put the bar in the right place and snap them. The bar goes in the middle

I can already see the tarp wrapping smoothly over the rear bar. Too dark to install now, but I'll give it another go tomorrow and report back. I think this will be MUCH easier than what I've dealt with.

Good deal. I think if we had gotten a good look at the rear of the soft top early on, that weirdness would have been apparent sooner. Sorry you had to fight it for so long before I asked for another pic...

Ok, here is phase two of the soft top saga .. %@#$& zippers!!

I spent an hour installing the side windows. The back window got the better of me. The upper part of the back window just had too much of a gap against the rear portion of the soft top that has the teeth. There is no way that zipper is closing on without some sort of magic. I even had two other friends try and give up.

So dear wizards of the forum, I need your help once again. Should I have done the back window before the sides? I really don't want to touch the side windows if I can. I think the main problem is that the soft top still is not stretched out to it's proper length. Other than parking the vehicle in the sun for a week, is there anything else can I do to help it stretch faster?

I must say that as painful the side window installation was, I see the intent behind the design. They've really tried to keep water out. Luckily it doesn't rain much in the summer here but I would be too chicken to put this soft top through a Portland winter. I'm so glad I have the hard top.

Looks great! Nothing beats the original manufacturer soft top. And, I have to say, the original Moab wheels, also! When did you change wheels from the ones shown in post #1?

Just this Monday! Been looking for a set and managed to find one locally for a good price over the weekend. I put 265/75R16 C rated Duratracs on them on Monday and the ride quality improved so dramatically compared to the huge Toyo mud tires that came with the Jeep .

Looks really good, I have to say I'm a huge fan of the Moabs vs. any other wheel for a Rubicon (or any other TJ, I think). Now that you've had the Duratracs for a while in that size, I am curious as to your assessment of the pavement noise of those...it seems there are such varying opinions about that, I would like your take, if you don't mind.

The duratracs are amazing. The noise level concerns are exaggerated, imho. These are really good tires.
