Soon to be obsolete

You never know unless you see them in person first. I have all the Moog tie rods and ends sitting here and they were made in USA.

Good luck buying a part made other than China. Seems like most manufacturing is done in China now days. Hopefully the US has figured this out and brings manufacturing back.

It's many global countries at this point, not just China.

US policy is what set this all up, and these results were predicted by dissenters back when decisions were made.

Many US citizens aren't ready for the short-to-medium-term economic decline that will surely come with bringing manufacturing back to the States. It would be a global economic disaster when we try to cut off some items, but still want other items from the supplying countries.

Also, between the EPA and workers' rights alone, things will simply cost more if created stateside (at least for a while).

And we know consumers will cry when they pay 2x-4x more for US-made products.

A sizable transition will disrupt the global economy and that's what those in charge are afraid of (and they should be).

It's similar to how we are set up to export some oil, but not set up to refine other oil (so we import it). Cutting ties with current importers to build up new refineries would destroy the current world economy in short order.

That said, most reasonable folks understand that not creating for ourselves puts leverage in the hands of global competitors and future enemies. This is why our military is so important as it helps keep an economic clamp down on other countries. (we want to eat our cake and still have it too...i.e., have someone else make it for us, but also ensure the products stay affordable).

Disclaimer: these are nothing more than my random thoughts on the topic

Fortunately, my '97 4.0 was still equipped with a distributor from the factory. If sourcing electronic parts becomes a problem, there is enough backwards compatibility with the 258 that I can make all the electronic bullshit go away in the course of an afternoon or two.
