Who could honestly say that they have a good sounding aftermarket audio system? In my 2001 I have a dual head unit, no console sub, and kickers in the sound bar and dash. It's alright, but it isn't enough. I'm not into the 5 amps, sub boxes, or none of that nonsense (hell I can't grasp the idea about any of it lol) I'm looking for ideas for maybe some tweeters or something tiny that'll give me alittle throaty-ness. Idk. Throw out what you know!

I think you need a sub to give it a fuller sound.

Also, I stuffed some poly fill in my sound pods and installed the foam speaker baffles in the front.

I use to compete in car audio and definitely consider myself knowledgeable.

It sounds like you have good speakers in the kickers. Just remember that higher end speakers are meant to be amplified by an amp, not a head unit. The watts out of a head unit are junk. Whatever the radio is rated at should be divided by two and that is what you actually get. If you want quality buy an amp for your kickers.

I removed the console, removed the white plastic tub inside, laid the sub in vertically so the console would fit over top of it. It's not coming out unless someone breaks the console to get it. I'll try to grab some photos .

This isn't my photo, but your console will fit right over the sub in this orientation. I also added some padding underneath it to keep vibes down. I was pleasantly surprised at what this little 8" adds.
