Today my hubby and I took a drive to do a few forest roads. While doing one of the 4x4 trails we stumbled on, my gas tank was showing I only had about a quarter of a tank. I knew this to be wrong as I had just under a half and figured the angle we were going was causing the gauge to be wrong. It did make me start thinking about possibly caring a Jerry Can for those 'oops' moments when you think you have enough but went just a tad to far exploring. LOL
I came home and of course started looking. I found this,
https://www.quadratec.com/p/morryde/spare-tire-jerry-can-mount-jeep-vehicles
I like how it hooks to the spare tire mount but it is easily removable via a hitch style mount. I could easily take my spare cover off and slide the can holder on and go, then get home and remove can holder and put the cover back on.
Question is, how much wear and tear will this to do my tailgate? Should I do something to reinforce it? I know I need to add extensions on the bumpers that are supposed to be touching the tire, I have actually needed this since I got the jeep but it is just low on my priority list. LOL Guess I will have to move it up now.
Any other suggestions besides this mount set up?
