Stupid rear track bar bolt!

Some days you just look at a design and think, man that's a dumb design. Just had to vent for a minute over that stupid torx 55 bolt right next to the gas tank!

I did go straight to heat to break it loose. Gave it a try with a socket driver and just noped. Hit it with heat and came right loose. Well the little bit I could with the ratchet, then I just put a pipe wrench on the stupid thing.

Ok I'm done complaining. Got the bracket on to move the track bar and am pretty happy now.

Replace with hex bolt or deal with it again next time!!

Why did Jeep use a torx? Rear end collision pushes the gas tank into the rounded bolt head vs hex head corners
If you drop the axle down it’s a whole lot easier to get out

Huh.... makes sense. Now I've learned my new thing for the day. Still a pain lol. I couldn't imagine trying to remove that bolt without the axle dropped down. I'm installing a 2 inch lift which is why I am messing with it in the first place.

The 2" lift will help (next time). Removing the shock bolt on that side will let the axle drop lower. Lifting the opposite end of the axle might get the bolt even lower. And it gives you a good excuse to raise your gas tank (the $500 fix).
