Suspension seats

Ok have a pretty worn out drivers seat. Material is in great shape but foam is shot.

Now, I’ve looked at bartac seat covers and if I was going to cover, I’d do that. Let a shop do the foam.

But add it up and I’m in suspension seat pricing.

Now I’ve been out of the game long enough I don’t know if things have change or I’m missing a new brand.

I have ran the following in my last rigs. Mastercraft, beard, prp.

My opinion was mastercraft was top notch and I loved them. I know each manufacturer has different models but felt the mastercraft was a step above.

Now, al these were in Offroad rigs with fixed frames and dedicated harnesses. I don’t want that. I want reclining and retain the ability to fold forward.

What are my options?

I run the Mastercraft Baja RS. Mine recline, tilt forward and are quite comfortable in daily driving. It took a bit to get used to going over the higher bolster, but seems normal now.

Mine need a new bottom seat cover on the drivers side seat. I think it was just too many times of sliding over the bolster getting in and out. I recently added Body Armor rock sliders/steps. If I had had those a few years ago, I might not need to replace the seat cover bottom.

I believe I got them from 4WP.

Here are a few pics back when I first installed them about 5 years ago. Installing the seats on the brackets is a PITA, but once I managed that, I really like the seats.

I’m running PRP Enduro Elite. I opted for the +4” height as I’m 6’5” but they are really nice and still recline and tumble forward.

I'm happily running PRP suspension seats and love the fact they're 100% manufactured here in California. The other suspension seats I looked at were imported from China. Mine is their Daily Driver model which has a fixed-angle seat back but PRP makes them with adjustable seat back angles too.

Thanks for the link and write up. Do you happen to have a picture of it folded forward? That might push me into a fixed back like you have as the adjustable seats are roughly twice the money. Yikes.

If you do decide you want reclining seats, be very careful with cheaper options (Smittybilt) and some of the not so cheap options (Corbeau), as many of them seem to have shitty reclining mechanisms and some have reported they've had them break and had the seat back fall straight back.

I am also running the prp daily driver seats. They are probably my favorite mod. My drivers seat flips forward though. Plenty of room for an adult to get into the back. And I've never found myself wanting to adjust the seat back. I can get in the back just fine from either side. As a bonus prp makes a rear seat that fits well is super comfortable and matches the front seats perfect.

Whatever you get, don't let them add piping in between the seams. The piping eventually starts coming apart & looking terrible. The owner of PRP told me they no longer recommend piping but...
