Wow, that is a gorgeous Jeep! I'm envious.

Honestly I bought this jeep in a Hotel in Tampere Finland after spending the night drinking double bourbons on a boring night after work. Flew home a week later hooked up my trailer and drove from Fort Worth to Tennessee to pick it up. Bought a Springfield XDM from PSA AT 4am drunk on a couch in the basement of a friend's house in Rochester Minnesota. Problem with the jeep is I get home and join this forum. Now that's been expensive learning to do this stuff right lol. 1800 dollar control arms, 750 dollar skid plates that cost me 500 for powder coat (did a zinc base followed by color). Not an mfer on here I wouldn't put a double Blantons for except mrblaine and hell id pour him two.

Ahhhh, have you, ahhh, noticed a pattern here?

🙂

Need a little advice here guys. I got the extra clearance and not the ultra clearance skid plates from UCF installed this past weekend as well as my Tom Woods drive shaft. Pinion is fully reset and all drive train is smooth now. There is a rumbling vibration that seems to be the T-case touching the tunnel. I was under the impression that with a body lift, motor lift, and the non ultra tummy tuck this would not happen. Now I am looking and I see the low pro trans mount from UCF. Will this fix my problem? Are there better ideas here? I guess the best question is what the hell did I screw up?

If the TCase and/or Transmission are touching the tunnel then you need to clearance that. Locate all places it is touching, place a nut of proper size on top of the part that is touching and jack it up to create a dimple in the tunnel.

The reported problem with the low pro transmission mount is that it creates vibrations at idle due to insufficient rubber to dampen.

Pictures might help.

My transfer case has plenty of clearance with said skid plate, mml, bl.

I have the same setup as you, and there is LOTS of room around the tranny and t-case.

Did you do anything with the exhaust hanger on the side of the tranny? Is it hitting? I cut and shortened mine by 1-1/16".

No I figured it moved with the rest of the motor and manifolds.

Raining here but its the Rubicon with a slightly larger transfer case I am told. Not sure what to photograph hard to even see with that plate and all in place.

I am also running the same Skid, mml, and BL. I cut my Exhaust mount at the Transmission mount in-between the two holes and bolted it together. I have plenty of room with the 241 and the extra clearance skid. My only mistake here was attaching the mount piece to the inside of the mount and not the outside.

What kind of shape is your Transmission mount in? Sounds to me like it could be bad if your touching the Skid plate with the T-Case.

Edit: Ignore the second line, I misread your post. I do not have any interference between the tub and the T-case, nor any that I notice last weekend during my first test run.

I think the transfer case is touching the transmission tunnel. Its hard to get up in there and tell 100 percent for sure but that seems to be it. I leave the country on business Saturday for a week so I cant do anything with it until I get back. But it drives me nuts lol I need to fix it.

Yup, Sorry, I misread your post and was under the impression that the T-case was touching the skid. I have the 241 as well and it does not touch the trans tunnel or floor pans. I think you need to adjust the exhaust mount at the transmission.

Mine was hitting at the tunnel.

I would get some bigger nuts or whatever you need to stack on the high points of your 241 like JMT said. It took me a few tries to get the tub where it needed to be.

DAMN did all this to avoid that and lol here I am. OK it'll have to wait till I am home from Finland.

So if I have to knock dents with this one how would I ever get the ultra high tummy tuck to fit? Hell Id have to cut and reshape the tunnel with sheet metal.

If you want the best you have to work for it. There’s no shame in that. Every TJ is a little different. You’ll get it.

So for the immediate future I put 2 washers between the skid and frame at each bolt and problems are away. I'm leaving tomorrow on a business trip and don't have time to be clearencing. Just have to play it by ear. Hell may try 1 washer it's not much I'm only giving up 3/16 of an inch.

Watch those skid plate bolts. Carry spares and loctite. Mine like to eject themselves at inopportune moments.
