Bought this 99 TJ a few weeks ago.
Noticed the sway bar linkage on the drivers side was rubbing on frame (and had been for a long time).
I noticed the sway bar was shifted towards the passenger side a little over an inch.
I manually centered the sway bar but it immediately wants to shift back to one side - even without driving it.
Did some reading and assumed the problem is that it does not have a adjustable trackbar - even though my measurements show the axle to be centered.
I used two clamps to keep the sway bar centered and ordered an adjustable trackbar (Rancho)
So the trackbar got delivered but I have been driving it with the sway bar centered using clamps and it seems to drive fine.
My question: I realize the clamps on the sway bar are a bandaid but what is the risk in just driving it the way it is instead of installing the new trackbar? I wondered if because the axle seems to be centered (I measured an equal distance from frame to outside of each front tire) I kinda hate to start messing with stuff if it drives fine the way it is. Don't want to screw anything up by just putting a bandaid on it (clamps on sway bar) but also don't want to somehow mess up the way it drives right now (and the sway bar linkage no longer rubs on frame).
I appreciate any and all thoughts/recommendations.
