Sway bar woes

My 06 LJ bar was shifting as described above.
I replaced the old bushings with new factory parts and it didn’t change a thing.

As @mrblaine said, I ordered two of these aluminum split shaft collars from McMaster and Carr to eliminate the issue.
I wish I’d installed the collars before replacing the bushings.

Off hand I don’t remember the exact diameter I ordered but compare their prices to the JKS and make your decision.

Is you sway bar sitting snug in the bushings on top of the frame or is it flopping around.

Good question. It’s snug. No banging around there. Had that on my ‘97

Those are perfect.

Bar Diameter is 1.2”

For a 1.2", I'm thinking a 1 and 3/16" ID is about right? That should be 1.1875" ID.

Edit: Looking closer, the JKS ones are 6061 anodized aluminum for excellent corrosion protection, and about on par with the cost of McMaster 6061 clamps.

“Black oxide finished steel” will rust as soon as I take it out of the package in Minnesota winter

No, that is a front link. It’s 180 degrees off.

My front disconnects are made by jks and they're straight

Seems there are some discrepancies. Not sure why. But I will say that I’m doubtful it would have made a difference.

There is a slight angle to the bar relative to the bushings.

straight ones would be crooked when installed, it could wear the bushing faster

They aren’t straight. Or rather, as mentioned they are angled relative to the bushings.
