Tailgate differences

I have always been under the impression that TJ’s only had 2 tailgates. 97-02 and 03-06.

Bottom tailgate 97-02
Middle tailgate I thought was 03-06 but now I don’t know. Obviously it’s from 03 or later because of the vent but it’s different than the top tailgate.

I have had a few TJ’s over the years but never anything newer than 03. I have never seen that top tailgate style before but I’d like to put one on my 03 because it’s got more support for the spare. What year did that come from?

97-02 didn’t have the vent on the tailgate. The top one has the vent and the same mounting holes as the 97-02. Middle one has less mounting holes and still has the vent. All 3 tailgates are different

Oh gotcha thought you were trying to figure out the bottom one.
Maybe it's from an export model?

My 06 is like the middle picture. There is a single spare bumper located in the center of the tub section under the tailgate instead of mounted to the tailgate.

Seem to have nothing in common, ones an 05 LJ and one is a 03 TJR.
