Things not working right after clutch & flywheel replacement

Is the flywheel flat ground, or convex ground like they are supposed to be for Jeep?

I have no idea. It looks flat but I don’t really know. How do I tell? It was spec’d for a Jeep and represented as compatible. Flywheel looked just like the one I removed

Drop a straight edge across it, it should only make contact at the center of the friction contact surface. Thinking about it, that shouldn't cause clutch to not engage though... chatter when releasing the clutch, yes.

Did you replace the release arm? Are you sure it isn't bent? Did you reinstall the throwout bearing retainer correctly?

There is a lot that it could be, and you are going to need to go back in to verify all the possibilities...

They chatter on engagement which is what I think you mean as in releasing or letting the clutch pedal come up. That said, the amount of difference between the high part and the two lower sides isn't that easy to see. You need a good straight edge and some light behind it to see the .005" dips pretty clearly.

My problem is that when I press the pedal all the way down I still can’t shift into gear. The clutch was ok, slipping but functional. When I disassembled I found a large mouse nest which was causing it to slip. (The Jeep has been sitting for quite a while). I probably should have just reassembled it and it would have been fine but I figured as long as I had it apart I might as well replace the clutch.

I did not replace the arm as I did not expect any problem with it. I am certain that the clip is properly installed.
