Under the assumption that my steering was OEM, I recently purchased the Crown HD steering setup to replace mine due to busted tie rod ends and a busted boot/dust cover on the end of the drag link. After I received my Crown HD unit I did the research I should have done prior and realized that the PO had installed what I can only assume is a junkyard ZJ upgrade(yellow paint markings on the tie rod). I've read that the ZJ is essentially the same as the crown unit so my dilemma now is should I A: return the Crown HD and install new ends and a new dust boot on the drag link or B: just install the crown unit and call it a day.

If I go option A I get to add money back to the Jeep fund. Option B gets me complete brand new steering.

Oh damn. Questions like that are like the last question on who wants to be a millionaire. I would change the ends and leave the zj bar see how that goes first

Amazon returns are easy but since you made the mistake and not them, you will likely be charged return shipping. I would just run the new set up. You know it is all new and exactly what you have.

I agree with @Rob5589, just install what you purchased and have a new setup.

Thanks guys. This was the conclusion that I had come to myself. Just couldn't pull the trigger without a second opinion.
