Tire guy gone

Went in to have my tires re-balanced. Threw a weight on a front tire when I was out and about. Didn't see the TJ around that the usual tire guy who does the more standard off road tires drives. (It's heavily modded, you can't miss it)

When they were done, the front counter guy comes out and gives me the speach. Blah, blah, blah...and we reinflated your tires to factory specifications! I thought, how cute. Did you notice those were not factory sized tires by chance? Didn't say it, but wanted to. Also wanted to have the tire size / proper inflation talk with him. A few seconds of observation told me it would be pointless. At least the tires seem to be balanced correctly.

I hate shopping for a new tire store.

Discount Tire. About 45 minutes away, but they've even loaned me tires to try and will order anything in.

For what it’s worth, I’ve never once had an issue with Discount Tire on 185th.

Point S in Albany takes good care of me. Only shop I have found that will work with me on my beadlocks. I mount them and they balance. No other shop I have found will touch them. Even though I take the time to torque the rings myself. So no liability on their part.

Discount can be really good. When my last car was clean and showish it was always floor jacks and torque wrenches outside, no lifts or impacts. Being a DD with 180k that car is a little rough now but I still go there because they knew how to take care of a nice car.

I've never had an issue with Discount either....other than chronic tire over inflation with my Jeep, and under inflation with my Magnum with 22" wheels, but that's easy to remedy.

In my experience, it takes more time to argue tire pressure than it takes to deflate them myself in the parking lot.
