TJ explodes on friends boyfriend

IDK if i'd suspect the battery. the glove box is still intact. the hood shows evidence of the explosion coming from the front driver side look the way the hood was distorted from the blast.
where is the radiator? you can see the engine pulleys through the grill where's the radiator? could that have been the pop and the rest was just fire caused by it damaging something else?

He probably had a Trump 2024 decal on it and someone didn't approve.
I bet the hood is distorted when the fire dept. pryed it open. Dont know about the radiator cant really see in the pic. Crazy for sure though.
This happened to me a few years ago - I was on some FL back roads whipping this old 6 series around when I started smelling gas & then burning rubber. Pulled over, popped the hood & boom. After the fire dept put it out there wasn't anything plastic left in the engine compartment so I still don't know how it happened.

You know, most people just “break up” when they find themselves in a volatile relationship. She took it too far. Obviously she is very “woke” and a member of some type of underground organization that just doesn’t appreciate our TJ’s appeal. I’d dump her like a hot rock unless she stripped down naked and desperately tried to convince me otherwise.

i don't see nothin but the front of the motor, maybe it melted? it is pretty thin material.
The sad part is that he just put on a brand new lift kit along with new KC lights last week.
Same thing happened to me in my 99. I was eating at a restaurant in the hood and thought we got shot at. Blew acid all on the underside of the hood.
If that In-N-Out cup in the glove box was part of a #1 combo, that may be a good starting point, did he leave half the double double in there?
Although it does not look like it started in the cab. A shorted wire can take it's time to get hot enough to ignite surrounding areas.
I recently made a big mistake with a cable. I have a made up cable lock gig that I use to keep my pelican cooler secure while it's un-attended. When I was all done, I stupidly rolled it up and put it in my large pelican box (that has a Optima yellow top from 2011) a week later. I was going to pull a big rig out of my driveway that got stuck and found smoke coming out of the back of my truck. The cable had made connetion over the pos and neg posts of the battery and was rolled as such to maje a coil, it burned a round hole throygh the pelican lid and then gathered oxygen. Lost a 1" kinetic rope, optima batt, a pair of small tie downs, a large ratchet strap and a pair of NICE jumper cables. Oh, and the pelican box. Just lucky the driver hung up when he did.

Nah, that was a ‘77, before the EPA insulation break in I think. Probably just a goo old fashioned gas leak on the headers.

I see no evidence of an explosion, just an engine fire that had some intrusion into the cabin. A rapid onset and expansion of fire would be consistent with fuel.
Well there's a coincidence for ya. I had a red 6 series that at one point got a leaky cold start injector and dang near gassed me into unconciousness, but didn't catch fire.
I sold it to my dad, who later experienced an engine fire from a transmission cooling line spraying on the exhaust manifold. It happened as he was pulling in to his garage and was able to extinguish it before any damage was done.
A few months later he traded it in on a new Subaru using Obama's cash-4-clunkers program. Seemed like a shame for such a unique car but he got more for it than it was worth and between the engine fire, the near engine fire, and the laundry list of other issues we'd had to deal with it hadn't earned much favor from us.

This has nothing to do with a Jeep, but last year a co-worker of mine was driving g his F-150 down the road when the bed caught fire. He had a tonneau cover which went up like a dry Christmas tree along with gear he had back there. Truck was a total loss. Come to find out, he had a couple road flares that were not secure and were bouncing around. One of them sparked and burned the truck to the ground.
