When I put my key in the ignition sometimes it beeps and sometimes it doesn’t like it’s not getting power sometimes but other times it is. I checked the battery and it’s at 12.3v off. Oh sometimes the dash will keep singing when the key is in the ignition but when I step on the brake the sound fades off like it’s losing power. Does this sound like an ignition switch issue or is it more likely the wiring itself? I just picked the Jeep up it’s been sitting for 10+ years I’m currently restoring it. If it is the wiring would it be worth it to just take it to a shop to rewire everything? I hate electrical work with a passion lol.

The ignition switch / actuator can break internally and do weird things.

Sounds like you need a new ignition switch actuator.

Take a look at the condition of the battery posts, cable clamps, engine block grounding stud for corrosion and connection tightness.
