Does anyone know if you can cut a TJ hardtop amd just stretch it to LJ length? Do the door seals and width match, so it's just the straight body panel that is extended as far as the roof goes?

You’d still need to source LJ side glass and seals. Sell the TJ hardtop and buy an LJ.

The hardtop window on tj’s go down further than lj hardtop windows. I’m not saying it’s a good idea but I believe AEV used to do this on their stretched tj’s.

TJ hard tops around here are around 100-150$ at the yard, and free if they are cracked at all. so i dont think the post is a joke. I have never seen an LJ hard top for under 2K listed locally to me (i have been looking for over a year). i took a TJ top and started to fit it to an LJ with thoughts to make a half /truck cab out of it. after i did the first part to get the corners to clear, i thought it looked pretty neat and thats how its stayed now.

About 2 1/2 years ago I responded negatively to this thread about fitting a TJ hardtop to an LJ but since then I have seen a few pretty nice examples of guys custom cutting a TJ hard top for a LJ hard bikini top. If I could get one for cheap I would definitely be trying it out. I'll take a free cracked TJ top anytime. A guy in Daytona recently wanted $500 for one.
