I installed a 1" rough country lift onto my 2002 wrangler. As I was adding the extension bracket to the shift linkage bracket that is mounted under the transmission tunnel, all the rubber grommet nut hardware was corroded and fell apart. Looking for a source to buy new, or an idea of how to remount and keep the vibration dampening effects similar. There are four (4) of them for this bracket. See photo red line pointing at one of them.

I must be missing some old Jeep jokes here somewhere, or a common problem that i haven't run into yet. Why such insistence on the cable change. the install looks like a pain in the ass.

Its far less of a pain in the ass than dealing with that stock morphodite contraption. Its actually a very easy install, although getting it adjusted can be a bit fiddly. But once done, its done.

Cable shifter install it, adjust it, make sure everything is tight and then forget it.

Ron Popiel could have marketed it!!
billy mayes set it and forget it GIF

I don't want to belabor this, but why wouldn't i just replace the rubber isolation nuts (if i can find them) rather than the whole linkage swap to cable. Is there a recurring problem with the original linkage engineering that fails. I have never run across that problem.

Only the owners lack of maintenance on it. I keep the linkage clean and lubed and have never had any issues shifting with any of my Jeeps. I even got $500 knocked off the price of my WJ because it wouldn't shift out of 4WD when I test drove it. I bought it, then cleaned/lubed the linkage before I drove it home. Has been shifting smoothly for years now. 🤫

As per the photo I attached above I have what you need. Cost, shipping and a 4-pack of Guinness

The part number for the grommet is 52104014. It been discontinued for some time but there is one on Ebay for the ridiculous price of $19.75. I'd either buy a used bracket assembly or hit up a Pick-a-part and find a XJ to grab a few of the bushings off of.
