Transmission issues after MML install

Just installed a 1.25 body and 1" mml on my lj. I figured I would have issues with the shifter but not as bad as it actually is. No there is no tcase drop. Thinking of cutting some tubing for spacers to lift the trans mount but unsure how much I should go. Was thinking 3/4 spacers?

Using the original shifter linkage on the transfer case or a cable shifter?

Slip yoke eliminator?

Is it the 6 speed or transfer case or both?

Not the tcase the transmission. I have a cable shifter on the 241 that's fine. And it's a lj rubicon they don't need sye.

Stock transmission skid?

Yes you could space it up...or get a flatter pan from someone like Genright or Barnes.

For now yes stock skid. How much do the aftermarket high clearance skids raise everything? I'd rather just make some spacers for now instead of waiting for a new skid to show up supposed to have a snow run this Saturday.

Lots of choices out there...with your MML and BL I'd be aiming for a flat bottom.

Spacer ought to do for now...or pull the BL and MML until you're ready with more parts.

Extremely hard to get into 2nd 4th 6th and reverse. Removing the shifter bezel fixed the issue but I'd rather not cut up the bezel or try and slide the whole console back. Eventually I will be doing a tummy tuck.

No need to slide the console back very much. Try just loosening the console screws for slack, shift back and tighten.

Mine needed to go back an inch to give me a finger width between the shifter and the bezel... only 4 screws to move it back, probably way easier than spacing the trans...

If you have the 6-speed, it’s a bit harder to move the console back 1”. It can be done, but your limit is where the back console cup holders will run into the tub. You also have to drill new holes in the lower boot that mounts to the transmission tunnel so it will move back 1”. Otherwise that boot will be torn to shreds, and they’re either very expensive or unobtanium. You can also remove and bend the shifter forward so it misses the bezel on 2, 4, 6, and R.

Lifting the Transmission with a spacer should help too. I’d think an inch would be better than nothing. Of course a TT would solve it. That’s what I eventually did. Then everything was back to normal.

Good luck.
