Help! After 22 yrs, half of which in PA winters with salt...the hard brake lines ruptured on my ‘98.

I’ve replaced all the hard lines with prebent line from Classic Tube. For the life of me, I can’t get the front line from the master cylinder to the proportioning valve to stop leaking. It leaks at the proportioning valve fitting and I get a few good size drops while pressing the brake pedal, and a drop or two after several hours untouched.

It’s a new master cylinder, new lines, and the original proportioning valve. Is there some secret trick to getting this line to seat properly? I’ve tightened, loosened, completely removed and reinstalled for over an hour with the same result. I have a new proportioning valve coming tomorrow in the chance I fouled it somehow.

Any insight, tips, tricks, support, advice, cheering would be greatly appreciated.

replace the line, there is probably a problem with either the distribution block or the line, the line is the easiest and cheapest to swap first.
