UH OH!

The lift kit came with a driveshaft? Does a JKU need a new driveshaft when you lift it?
the 2012 and newer 3.6 have the exhaust crossing right in front of the skid, and the factory driveshaft can contact it at about 2" and more lift when you have it flexed offroad. Its not needed if not offroading. 35's clear with just 2" lift. I bought the mopar lift so I wont have any dealership problems for the remainder of my warranty, and it came with the $500 drive shaft I will need later when I install my metal cloak 3.5 gamechanger lift, then I can sell the lift minus the driveshaft and get most of the difference in cost back later.

Would you want to regear with 35’s on a JKU?
6 speeds came with 4.10 standard, only gear option available. Most autos had 3.73 with 4.10 available. the 3.6 engine has 285 hp and 260 ft lb, mine with 4.10 and 6 speed was actually irritatingly over geared stock. with 35's it is more suited to the 4.10s. I wont be regearing this one for a long time, if ever.

I'm thinking I'll just keep running the current tire size. 285/70/17. I do plan on changing them out to the all terrains. Either Duratrac or GoodYear.

I have been researching bumpers though. I'm not a fan of the stock one. Nope.

There is an air pump on the lh frame rail. Some bumpers require cutting the brackets and relocating it. Some don't. Something to be aware of while searching, if you don't want to relocate it.

Did it end up having the 3.73s? Even 35s with 3.73s wouldn’t be that bad. The JKs can handle a ton more than the TJs could.
