97 Wrangler SE, 2.5 L, manual.
Have not had a chance to drop the skid plate, but it looks like the fluid is beading under two bolts under the transmission right at the front edge of the plate. The fluid is yellow/brown-ish and viscous so looks like an oil, but I'm still too new to owning a Jeep to guess where this is coming from/exactly what fluid it might be. The fluid does not smell and is pretty clearly yellow-ish rather than red, so transmission fluid seems unlikely.
I do have a small leak (very, very small but enough to bead and hit the floor once in a while) at the power steering fluid reservoir. It is originating from an old, crusty hose that needs replacing. Reply on a related post suggested it could be power steering fluid, but I'm not sure on that. Bought the Jeep about 5-6 months ago and have not had any excessive fluid loss after the original top offs. These appear to be the only two leaks.
More or less appears to be the same problem described here, but so far no posted resolution.
