Several months ago, I purchased an installed a Mastertop Skymaster black twill soft top, newly offered in 2020. Fitment was great, quality was very good and the customer service for one issue was unbelievably prompt to resolve. part of the reason why I chose Mastertop was because they offered soft upper doors in black twill, something that Bestop does not do, to m knowledge.
Anyways, it appeared on several site that the soft top door skins were made to order. I ordered mine mid-February and I received them last week with a manufacture date of 3/10. I hung them in the sun and installed them on my factory frames. Installation was fairly easy except for the last corner. Fitment on the OEM frame was tight and there are no wrinkles. Fitment on the door and against the Mastertop soft top is disappointing. I also noticed one area where the fabric was not fully stitched.
I don't want to hear "should have gone with a Bestop" but are there tips/tricks to get soft top uppers to fit better. I know they're not going to be on par with full door fitment but I should be able to close the door. Or seeing how this is a new product, should I bring the issues up to Mastertop and have them resolve? I probably will anyways regarding the stitch issue. Also, the half doors are properly "gapped"
