After about a year with my 2002 Sahara TJ, I finally decided to start a build thread. I picked this TJ up around January 2025, bone stock, from an auction in Arizona. Over the past year I’ve wheeled it in California (Sequoia/Kings Canyon area) and Utah, and it’s definitely shown me what I do—and don’t—need in a rig.
Right now I’m in the middle of installing a Barnes 4-link long arm kit. I’ve got some welding experience, but I’m honestly figuring a lot of this out as I go. YouTube University has been clutch and made the whole process way less intimidating. Hoping to have everything wrapped up around March

Here’s what I’ve done so far:
- Picked up a new front bumper
- Welded up the rear bumper (added jerry can brackets, spare tire rack, fire extinguisher mount, and a farm jack rack)
- Threw on some tube fenders
- Swapped the MP241 transfer case for an MP3032 with a slip yoke eliminator
- Ditched the stock 31s for bigger tires
