Hey guys, I have been working on my TJ for about 6 months now. (off and on) I can't seem to get the "wag" out of it when I'm about 40mph and up. Especially on the interstate at 60-65, it walks all over the place. Previous history. Replaced front track bar and bushings, rear track bar bushings, steering linkage, steering box, knuckles and hubs, and had it aligned. I'm starting to think the control arm bushings might be shot? Would that have anything to do with it wandering like crazy? There is definitely something shifting (Feels like it might be rear end) but not sure.

I've had it aligned at a couple different shops. One which was a joke, and the other did a decent job in comparison. (Neither of them were a 4wd shop) Thinking about taking it to 4wp and just leaving it. Running 25psi. I will definitely post some photos when we get some light over here in NC.

also what parts did you replace, as in factory oem? or ebay? or a bunch of other brands combined? whats your lift if any?

Was it doing this before you started replacing parts? Did you do all at once or 1 or 2 things at a time? At what point did you notice the wag? Have you looked at your rear antisway bar mounts?

Hey guys, sorry for the late replay. The TJ was wrecked on the front left corner at some point and has also been wheeled hard before I got it. Replaced front track with RE1600 because it was bent, (there was an existing 1600 on it) steering linkage is OEM, tires are brand new Duratracks, (33x12.50) new sway bar on the rear, (oem) new oem rear track bar bushings. I did notice a couple weeks ago that the rear shock is GONE. Drivers rear. Could that potentially cause the wag? (Pics attached)

A cheap thing to try is swapping out those after market fixed rear lower control arms with some OEM style. They're cheap and easy to do. Maybe the front ones too, I can't see what's on there. All 4 control arms are like $100. I replaced my front stock ones with wasted bushings with OEM style new ones from Moog, and I can certainly feel a difference in the front end.

Roll the Jeep either direction , slam the brakes and watch the control arms in the mounting points . You will know real fast if you see movement you have rear steer going on .

My path to set up a TJ to drive nice is good tires, 26 psi , and not one single worn, bent or mis aligned component, all the way to the sway bar links . Everything matters . Everything . How much ? None , some , a little , a lot ....it all depends on the components' condition, it's roll in the the vehicle's handling , and what it's connected to and it's condition .

Unit bearings , hub u joints , shocks, brakes , tie rod ends , pitman arm, stabilizer, sway bar , every single bushing , every bolt , grease , axles , nothing needs to be overlooked.

I'm not saying drive a new Jeep under it .

Be thorough.

A missing shock will definitely cause a wag. When I broke one of the top bolts in the rear shock I just pulled the shock until I got it fixed. And there was a very noticeable looseness in back. But you have bigger problems with a bent frame and all the other issues you have.
It would have been nice if you had told us up front about all of that.
