Warn VR EVO, good winch or suck it up and buy a better model?

I need a new winch. My old Ramsey 8000 is just too slow and overheats if I use it too much. I was going to buy a Warn M8000. But Warn is doing a $150 rebate on the VR EVO series. That makes it almost half the price of a M8000.

So the question is who has experience with the VR EVO series? Any issues?

I know the M8000 is a superior product, but is it $400 worth of better than the VR EVO?

If you are still looking at the VR Evo, $420 with free shipping, eligible for the $150 rebate. In the box is another 100 rebate/credit for Warn's website due to the lack of the wireless controller.

EDIT:  Didn't read the entire thread... I see that you know this already. Ordered this and received it about a week later, in the box waiting for time to install and redo some wiring. Still on sale though.

Friend of mine ordered one from Northridge on black Friday and got it two days ago. His came with the wireless controller.

Super late but winch was fine and was my terminal connection that was faulty causing it to click but not enough to pull in so winch has still preformed without fail, just my failure to set it up well.
