What did you do to your TJ today?

Funny thing I once upon a time ran Hella with the H4 upgraded bulbs. They were the bomb back then. Once you get behind a good set if LEDs it alters your perception. I went from a LED light the PO, to the H4 halogen and thought the ugly led was a better light, so the Auxbeam bulb has given me the best of both worlds

I'm running the Hella H4 housings with Auxbeams LEDs and I absolutely love them. I still need to do a little tweeking to get the cut off lines where they "should be" but 99% of the people that drive past me don't high beam me, unless I forget to switch to low beam...

Got the JKS disconnects installed, sans the "parking studs" - I need to buy the appropriate tap to get those in.

I accidentally ordered the 2001 disconnects instead of the 2000. I was able to use the 2001 by the hair of my chinney-chin-chin! I don't think it would have worked if I didn't have the H&S springs, but as it is, the sway bar is at approx. 9 degrees, which is where its supposed to be.

Stupid question: I ordered the tap to install the "storage pins" - is any position preferred over any other? Top, middle, bottom of side of frame? Any particular reason to push the swaybar into a particular orientation in the stowed position?

I thinking it doesn't make a bit of difference, but I figured I'd ask anyway!

Are swaybar clamps recommended or a solution to a non existent problem?

I've since moved to a Swayloc, but here's where I had mine for 5+ years. Out of the way, no issues.

Make sure you’re very happy with the sway bar length before you drill the frame holes, otherwise you may end up with an extra. Ask me how I know…

I've been mucking about under the hood and decided to fix a minor oil leak by replacing the valve cover gasket. The paint on the valve cover was looking like it had the mange, so I decided to paint it and while I was at it something other than black. Not bad for a $1.99 can of Farmall Red tractor paint that was laying around the shop for several years.

The pre-production sample I saw looked good so I picked up a set of the summit LED headlights to install over the weekend.

Those look interesting. I like the classic sort of period correct look. Looking forward to seeing how they perform

I second how you will like these. Post a picture of the beam pattern at night if you can.

I like my LED headlights, but they don't look like they fit a 2000 TJ. I've been looking for a LED headlight that would look the part with very similar beam/light output that the ones I have installed.
I have been running the Holley Retro Brite LEDs for quite a while. The purchase price pain is long gone. Performance is top notch. Period correct look too. Still interested in what @red02tj comes up with.

I really like my Toyota/Koito H4 kit, but the brightness - even with 100/80whella bulbs - isn't spectacular.
I was very happy with the performance of the Toyo/Koito kit be much prefer the 5700k temp of LEDs.

Installed the Wranglerfix tuned PCM for 05/06 automatics... I like it. Will explain on a Wranglerfix thread...

Nice and clean ^^^^

Has anyone said anything about a benefit to getting this upgrade if you have a 6 spd manual?

You're confusing it with this place. 🤫

Yes, I was. A long time ago my friend, who was a struggling musician, was desperate for work and he got a job there playing for their animal show. He never told anyone but I went to a kid's birthday party there one day and saw him. He was so embarrassed and made me swear to keep quiet. He ended up quitting a couple days later.

Any tips for doing this job? I've got a jks 1" MML like this waiting for install.

Sorry for the slow reply - somehow missed this notification.

There are a couple of good threads on this forum that I used. The basics: make sure that you unbolt the transmission mount before you start jacking up the engine. To lift the engine I used a floor jack with a 2x4 wedged up against the bolt flange of the oil pan, one side at a time. I have an 05 with A/C so I had to remove the entire mountain bracket on the drivers side to access one of the bolts. I took that bolt out and put it in the other direction when reassembling so I can access it easier now. On the passenger side, from the bottom on of the motor mount lift bolts interfers with the bolt on the frame bracket. I had tightened up the frame bolt first, but ended up having to disassemble, install the lifting block and tighten those bolts down, and then tighten up the bracket bolt to the frame. That's probably not a great explanation but if it's an issue on your TJ you'll know what I'm talking about when you get there. Just put some thought into how the bolts are going to have to go in so you don't have to undo things like I did. I did the whole project myself, but would definitely recommend a helper if you have someone, felt like I did 100 burpees trying to get everything lined up.
