What did you do to your TJ today?

The trees out there are huge

This not what I did to my Jeep, but what I did for my Jeep.
I decided to upgrade one of my tools.
The Scan Tool that I had been using for years capabilities were seriously out of date.
After searching around online for a while I ordered an Autel MaxiCOM MK808S (2026 version) for $380..
NOTE: I found online sellers offering the same model cheaper (<$325), but they were the 2025 version.

I got yelled at for working on my car growing up, even if I was doing it at someone else's house 🤣

I’ve had that happen…be working away under the hood in a parking lot….yanking parts…. Somebody just starts screaming and yelling….some kind of “hey thats my car” bull crap.

My son talked me out of a canoe, a kayak, a pick-up truck & a college education so fast my head was spinning. He already knows he’s getting my Jeep. It will be part of my estate.

I know what you’re saying…

I started off, wanting to give them the world…. and the more I did that the more they wanted.

It’s a hard thing because you love your kids at the same time you know they’ve got to be able to make it without you.

I’m derailing a little bit and I’m not pointing this at your situation but we’ve got the strangest thing going on in America-

We value success and prosperity above most anything- and we make sure everything is so expensive that it’s a pretty good plan to be successful-

Then our kids are going out into the world lost as last year’s Easter egg. They see the goal and they know what success looks like and they feel so much pressure that they feel like a failure before they even start.

Most of them never realize that hard work sacrifice and dedication are the best path to success that is sustainable.

And the real key is you have to give it enough work and time that you develop those things inside you that can’t be taken away… your value has to come from within.. but it’s mostly up to you to fill that container.

Looks like someone got their money's worth from the expensive seminar. 🥳

Of course, you’re right, but I did say all that rather jokingly. My son turned out great & is doing a wonderful job raising my grandsons.
57 or 5'7"? 🥳

Preach!

Many of you know I'm 19. Many of the people I've been surrounded by did not go to college, including me. Somebody at work asked me what made me get a job so young, I didn't know what to say lol. But I'm thinking, what was I supposed to do? College is a waste of money, and without a job I would've been depressed and had no money, which equals having nothing to do. That sounds boring AF in my opinion

Your path is your own. Nobody should tell you what that path is.

Love to hear this kinda thing... going against the norm of college. We are not sheep.
Seems funny to me when at 19 that's a 'young' age to start a job haha I started my apprenticeship when I was 17, straight out of school and into the work force. It felt great to be learning and earning.
I never looked back even with 3 career changes and a country change with new cultures to adapt to.....life is for living, grab it by the horns.

I moved out of my parents' home at 17, after I graduated high school and got my own place. I've never been one to follow other people's rules. Worked construction for 12 years, then decided to work smarter, not harder. Self employed ever since and have enjoyed all of my good and bad decisions ( lots of jail time). I've actually lived my life. My brother has tons of money, buys everything he wants and can pay cash, works 75 hours a week and his wife is more like a sister to him. Choices. I regret nothing.

Same, I started working about a month after I graduated high school. And two summers before that. I also regret nothing

Looks like you picked a beautiful one. (y)
p.s. Recently saw pics of Cathedral cove. Amazing in photos.

You're not wrong...NZ is a beautiful place I'm very, very lucky.
Cathedral Cove is a stunning beach and yes it does look exactly like the pic. At low tide you can walk through the cave to the other beach. Its less than a 3 hour journey from my place...that whole area is gorgeous and protected land to stop it being developed and destroyed.

Can you drive your Jeep through it and post pics with food and a Mountain Dew? At low tide of course. New ROTM winner if you get them at high tide. ;)
