I've had the OEM top and a sailcloth RAT. IIRC the OEM top lasted till around 06-07, the Sailcloth was replaced in 14. Since then I've had a Twill Super top NX.
Both OEM and sailcloth tops failed above the doors where the plastic flaps tuck into the door surrounds. They were both up and down a lot in the changeable weather we get in the UK.
The OEM top tore at the end of each flap. The Sailcloth top layer came away from the inside layer of the top along the stitching across those tabs so what was holding the flaps on was very thin. The material was failing the same way along the plastic strips running along the rear side windows.
The Twill is a superb material. It's very supple, and showing no signs of failure after 11 years. Aside from the windows showing 11 years of scratches, and the top needing a good clean, the material is good as new.
If the TJ is a keeper, I'd look at the price difference of a Twill RAT compared to the Sailcloth.
